Parklands face new threat.

Bit by bit, commercial interests continue their relentless campaign to highjack public open space.

Hot on the heels of Adelaide University’s land grab for its new Graduates Clubrooms near Mackinnon Parade, comes the possibility of Adelaide Football Club eyeing off a slice of our historic parklands for a new city headquarters.

To quote Parklands Preservation Association president Ian Gilfillan: “We are horrified at the prospect of another major development on the parklands. This looks like a forerunner of another grab by a commercial, single-based interest group”.
