Goodwood bridge. Good news.

July 11, 2014

Work began on Thursday night on repairs to the pedestrian decking alongside the rail bridge over Goodwood Road.

Weather conditions permitting, the work will continue through to early on Sunday morning, which will allow the safety fencing to  be reinstated early next week.

Releasing the good news today, Unley Council’s Property Assets Manager  Mr Alan Johns said that, while noting the possibility of delays because of bad weather, it was expected the walkway would be open to pedestrians and cyclists late next week.

Meanwhile there is still no news on the delicate issue of who pays what for the possible $140,000  repair bill…It all depends on the contentious technicality of who owns the structure…
