“Tiser’s” carbon cock-up.

August 3, 2014

One day, perhaps, just perhaps, the “Advertiser” will actually print an accurate story about the activities of Local Government…

But don’t hold your breath.

On Friday, August 1st, our weakly daily told its readers that Unley Council had budgetted $140,000 for payment of the carbon tax in the present financial year.

What was provided, in print, to the paper was the news that: “Council budgetted $70k for carbon tax expenditure in 2012-13. It didn’t budget any expenditure in 2013-14 and offset costs incurred against savings within the operation.

“Council budgetted a modest $12k for 2014-15 given the likely repeal of the tax”.

Sorry, Waymouth Street, but how difficult is that to understand and convey to your readers?

It is amazing how little investigation The Advertiser puts into its stories.
    The article was total nonsense.
Now Council needs to deal with residents would might want a refund.
