$2-a-page Council fee dropped.

August 5, 2014

It took a couple of amendments to my original motion, but Unley Council has very wisely dropped the extortionate $2-per-page impost on residents wanting to keep abreast of civic affairs.

After surveying a number of surrounding Councils’  listed fees  I successfully  moved a recision motion at the latest Unley Council meeting, seeking to reduce the cost per page of Council agendas and minutes to a price “that is consistent with other photocopying/printing fees set by Council”. That’s just 35cents.

A thankyou to those fellow councillors who helped fine-tune the motion to success.

    It just made sense.
We shouldn’t be penalising the residents.

      Must agree with you Bob.
I would go further and say that agendas and minutes should be free for residents.

Fair suck of the sauce bottle, Ian. At least I took the matter up and had some success…
