August 11, 2014

Tennis and bowls in Unley have been given an early Christmas present…with the Office for Recreation and Sport handing out $10,000 to the Sturt Lawn Tennis Club for their irrigation upgrade, $3,ooo to Goodwood Tennis Club for similar work, $13,500 to the Unley Park Sports Club for a facility and equipment upgrade and Unley Park Bowls Club  $2,5oo also for equipment upgrade.

Announcing the grants, Unley Council’s Sports and Recreation Planner Mr John Wilkinson said that the Sturt news was  of particular interest , as it would assist with the funding of  work which would enable the club to not only upgrade its irrigation but to install a connection to the Glenelg Adelaide Pipeline (GAP).

Work on this will be undertaken in time for the club’s next season.
