“Grumpy” is hibernating…sort of

August 29, 2014

An explanation…

Until a few hours ago there was the incredible news that the world at large was going to be deprived of the thoughts of Chairman Grumpy, courtesy of the stringent rules and regulations cooked up by the powers-that-be to complicate the should-be simple exercise of electing candidates for local Councils.

But it seems that the w.a.l. can sleep easy.

So long as I do not involve myself in subjects that could have an effect on the outcome of the November polls, and concentrate on the inconsequential and inane and it seems that there is no need for me to head for the sanctuary of a hillside cave.

Which means, gentle reader, that we can continue our discourses on the vital, world-shattering causes of finding an edible pork pie, or the campaign against the rape and pillage of Mount Everest by woeful wannabes. All earth-shattering subjects which have sent the daily total of “hits” to an average of more than 100 a day.

In the words of my advisers: “Keep the grumpiness down a bit and steer widely clear of matters civic and serious.”

So there you have it.

Grumpy lives. And promises not to dip his paws into third-tier government waters.

If you wish to contact me on matters civic, please do not do so through this website, but via 82718275, which is my long-suffering wife’s private phone line.

Mike, I think that you are over reacting a bit.
It is perfectly fine to continue blogging on election matters during the lead up to the election. You just have to include a disclaimer about who wrote it etc.
It’s just common sense. No different from distributing a newsletter.

    Aargh Mike
You won’t be able to help yourself.
Besides, as from next week, any utterance becomes an electoral matter.

Not so, according to the expert advice I have received from Council’s administration. And I don’t want to disappoint the fast-growing band of Grumpyites…with well over 1000 “views” this week alone.
