Bin sin. What a load of rubbish.

September 4, 2014

How’s this for the trivia item of the week?

Way out at Kadina, where you would think that space is not a problem, an unneighbourly act involving a misplaced rubbish bin could be heading for legal action.Seems P.P. of the country town is peeved that his neighbour places his wheelie where it blocks his (PP’s) driveway!

The Advertiser’s helpful “What’s Your Problem” column suggests a three-part solution to this horrendous situation.

First, contact the neighbour. If this doesn’t work, talk to the Council. Three go to the police, who can decide whether to issue a fine.

Because, disbelieving reader, all of the above relates to “civil trespass” and is a criminal offence!!!

    Neighbourly disputes know no boundary.
So I’m not surprised that out in country Kadina there is such a dispute.
It is amazing how many disputes there actually are between neighbours.
I know of a street near me where there is some sort of (usually minor) dispute between neighbours of each house.
The most recent incident I was called upon to deal with involved a resident tossing snails over the boundary fence onto the neighbour’s lawn.

I am interested to know who is running for the upcoming election as nominations are now open. Are you able to provide us, your readers an update on this matter?

Sorry, Jasmine… Would love to be able to help. But the restrictions imposed by the Electoral Commission and ICAC are so strict that I am hamstrung.I know it’s crazy, but… to be on the safe side, Grumpy is in a state of virtual hibernation.

Jasmine, I believe that 10 of the 12 current Councillors are intending to nominate. Pop into the Unley Civic Centre and have a look at the nominations board. There are new names each day.
I hope that there is a healthy number of candidates with an increase in women.
