Appalling “Advertiser”.

April 28, 2015

As a former journalist by trade I cannot believe the actions of our  daily tabloid when it comes to the treatment of news.

Today is a classic case of “The Advertiser’s” weird sense of priorities.

What newspaper worthy of the name would devote more space to the ultimate and justified execution of two guilty  merchants of death than to the horror of earthquake-devastated Nepal and the unknown fate of more that 200 Australians?

For years now I have hung my head in despair and shame at the (lack) of news-sense on Waymouth Street. The latest example of warped  news values epitomises the depths to which our morning rag has sunk.

These days the only things worth our attention are the comics and the crosswords!

True story Grumpy – I cancelled my subscription to the Advertiser when I realised that the only thing worth reading in it was the Calvin and Hobbes comic! 🙂
