“Sky spy” worries

May 1, 2015

droneDrones (aka unmanned aerial vehicles) have been hovering over parts of Millswood in recent days, apparently filming for the TV programme “House Rules”.

And locals, according to their Councillor, Don Palmer, are not best pleased.

The problem came to light in a question on notice to Monday’s Council meeting, when Members were told that they could do nothing to halt the aerial invasion of their privacy.

In response to a question on notice from Councillor Palmer, Councillors have been told that bylaws expressly indicate that the problem is outside their sphere of influence.

So, gentle readers, the simple message is: “If you’re in the habit of mowing the lawn in the nude…”

Does that mean that if one of the radio controlled aircraft enthusiasts engaged in a dog fight then this would be ok too? UAV to UAV. I’m sure some of the residents would love to watch the spectacle, especially if water cannon, water based paint/dye bombs or other non-lethal, non-toxic “weaponry” was employed.
