Nepal update.

May 8, 2015

The sad news.  The death toll is at 8,000, with more tremors today.

The good news. My guide for 30 years and 26 treks, Tenji, has reported that he and his family are unharmed, as is their Kathmandu home. But like so many thousands, they are still living outdoors for fear of more aftershocks.

A motor-cycling Australian I caught up with just before I left has emailed me to say he escaped the quake by just four hours!
