Mother’s Milk “consultation” leaves a sour taste.

June 6, 2015

I have just sighted the so-called “consultation” sheet  being distributed by Council to residents and businesses in the near vicinity of the “Mother’s Milk” café on the corner of Maud Street and Unley Road.

I expressed grave doubts at open Council as to how the so-called “consultation” would be conducted.

My worst fears have been realised. And the cream of the jest is that this is NOT consultation. It is merely information. It neither reflects the physical facts nor explains the financial impact of the proposal  on the residents’ hip pocket. Moreover, I cannot see where the opinion of the recipients is requested!!!

It seems to be a foregone, sour-tasting conclusion. As was the slanted “consultation” over the enclosing of the Unley Oval.

I understand that this is a favourite cafe for some of the Unley Councillors.
Is there any conflict of interest?

I remember there was a photo of the Mayor, his wife and a white dog all seated at the cafe.
The local Councillors probably go there.
I hear that the coffee is quite good.
