Open space boost for Unley.

June 29, 2015

Great financial news, for a change…

Grumpy is happy to pass on the announcement that Unley Council has received a Government grant of $300,000 towards the development of  the (currently) vacant blocks of land alongside Fullarton’s Katherine Street as a  community open space.

Unley has only two percent or so of open space, the lowest of any Council  in the metropolitan area.

Local residents will be invited  to participate in a survey to determine the best use of the windfall, which will allow the redevelopment to be (sort of) fast-tracked. Grumpy isn’t, he believes, pre-empting the outcome of the consultation, but he is reasonably certain that a dog park will be low on the agenda…

More later.
