Trespasserrs in the spotlight.

February 2, 2016

It will be an interesting and expensive (at $100,000) exercise, and I await with interest the results of an outside consultant’s investigation  into the extent of “squatting” that  has been happening over the years on Unley Council-owned footpaths.

The probe,  the cost of which has been spread over two financial years, could, I suspect, reveal some interesting and perhaps embarrassing “take-overs”!

Meanwhile, it seems that for some traders in Adelaide’s square mile are not over the moon  with the proliferation  of those “parklets” which have sprung up in recent times, providing outdoor eating opportunities and, apparently, also a lot of unacceptable public mis-use. So much so that traders have fronted Council with a call for remedial action.

That behaviour, of course, would not happen in Unley, would it?
