Mayor Clyne on the move?

July 2, 2016

No official confirmation yet, though I understand that some senior staff members of Unley Council are in the know.

The strong rumour is that Liberal-inclined Mayor Lachlan Clyne will soon be  heading for new residential pastures…in the adjacent parliamentary electorate of Ashford, currently held by Labor’s Steph Key.  A seat which she retained last election mainly, Grumpy understands, through her support of the re-opening of the local railway station!

Mayor Clyne’s suspected change of address is/would be an astute political  move, as voters obviously favour a local lad at the helm.

More later, as details come to hand.

Incredible. You’re still an old newspaper hack. Where on earth do you source your information? To my knowledge Mayor Lachlan Clyne has not yet confirmed that he running for the Liberals in Ashford. What if he does not get pre-selected?

During a long campaign and he seems to be starting now – can the mayor stay on in that role? Wouldn’t it politicise the position of mayor???

    Hey Lockie, good on ya.
You’ll be a real blue force in Ashford. I hear that the Labor mob have gone into crisis talks.
