Rates rise witch-hunt.

July 28, 2016

Wanted. A free issue of mirrors to the inhabitants of the North terrace lunatic asylum.

In a classic case of “Do as I say, not as I do”, a Government whose Members’ actions are driving the State to the brink of bankruptcy, has the brazen gall to divert the public gaze  away from  their financial failings by demanding  local councils will be forced to detail their spending each year in a “thorough audit”.

Last time I looked, as part of the 30 years as a Councillor, the financial dealings in the governing of City of Unley have always been crystal clear for the public gaze. It’s called a budget, with every detail down to the smallest expenditure and income.

I can only speak for Unley, of course, but the “totally  unsatisfactory” allegation from  a Labor-dominated committee about the alleged state of recordkeeping smacks of a diversionary ploy to minimize the public’s scrutiny of State finances.

People in  glass houses shouldn’t undress with the lights on…

I just love that fleeting vision of someone getting dressed with the lights on.
