Unley to host international French bowls battle.

July 31, 2016

Great news for South Australian  followers of the socialize-and-sip sport of petanque.

The Eastern Suburbs Petanque Club, sited on Northgate Street, Unley, will be the venue for the hotly contested Trans Tasman trophy next year.

The event, on March 18 and 19, will be a great boost for both Unley and South Australia, and will strengthen the Council area’s ties with France , whose Alliance Francais headquarters are in the Goodwood suburb.

Petanque has a widespread following in the city, with clubs in Prospect, the south parklands near Unley Road, and the “Ferals” in the parklands opposite the Botanic Hotel.
