Bicycle fest may be unsaddled

November 16, 2016

It’s been a fixture on the Tour Down Under scene for 18 years, but dissension among the traders in King William Road may see the pre-stage street shenanighans sited elsewhere.

While the traders’ association has assured Unley Council that it is behind the   event continuing, not everyone in the street is so enthused, and Council has still to give an assurance that they will be  taking a serious look at the pros and cons of it staying on KWR..

Needless to say, the city’s other traders’ associations at waiting in the wings, with Unley Mayor Lachlan Clyne’s mum, president of the Goodwood Central Traders’ Association and Unley Precinct Association chairman James Morris  expressing interest in the event, which last year cost ratepayers $270,000.

Watch this space for more news on the council area’s biggest public event.
