Secret favour for too-fast footy driver

November 30, 2016

I’m sure that someone out there will come up with a legal rationale, but one has to wonder why Crows defender Rory Laird was spared the trauma(???) of an open court appearance over a speeding charge.

Laird, 22, appeared at the Adelaide Magistrates’ Court yesterday for a “pre-trial conference” (closed to the public) on a charge of speeding along Unley’s Edmund Avenue. He was fined $157, but spared a conviction.

Save embarrassment, (and a conviction) folks. Register as a footy player!!!
