“Save our bus-stop”

December 21, 2016

It was suggested, apparently, with the best intentions… To relieve commuter traffic congestion on Glen Osmond Road .

Unfortunately, what was NOT taken into consideration by the powers-that-be was the fact that bus-stop 12  is   something of a sacred site for the elderly residents of neighbouring  Glen Woodley Estate Retirement Village, Waterford Apartments and the Coach House Mews Retirement Village.

“Grumpy” was button-holed at HIS Sunday sacred site (the Greenhill Road petanque club) by a couple of agitated residents who pointed out that the loss of the stop would create hilly difficulties for those using walking aids or pushing shopping trolleys.

Hopefully their pleas, which have been brought to the attention of local MP David Pisoni, will remove the threat.
