Am I alone in my bemusement and horror at the irresponsible extravagance of producing a mode of personal daily transport that costs $170,ooo and can travel at an irresponsible/impossible 250 kil(l)ometres per hour?
Also highly irresponsible, I believe, is our daily rag’s front page lauding of the whole pathetic charade of one-upmanship. Apart from the obscene flaunting of wealth, why (and where) would the ostentatious owner be able to safely demonstrate his status toy’s super-speed?
A pall of distress shrouded the social event Grumpy attended last night. Distress that two of our regular participants were absent and distressed in the wake of the horrific mid-north crash that claimed two of their relatives…with a third fighting for survival.
Rather than bask in the “glory” of producing the most expensive Commodore of all time, Holden should stand condemned of marketing a murderous monster.

I remember back in the 70s and 80s in the era of hot (and fast) V8 Holdens and Falcons when so many young drivers and their passengers were killed by their machines.
Holden would have done better to have released a limited edition luxury car, without emphasis on speed and power.
One consolation is that the hoons won’t be able to afford the $175k price tag.
