Gin but not forgotten.

June 4, 2017

They’re a weird mob way, way out west.

A good mate of mine is just back from an eight-hour-return road trip  for a family farewell to “Auntie”…who was knee high to a grasshopper, as the saying goes.

The centre of attention was on show before the burial, which answered my mate’s query about the inappropriately large  size of the coffin.  Auntie went off (hopefully heavenwards) serenaded by an impromptu rendering of “Amazing Grace”, and  sharing her mode of transport with a (full)  bottle  of gin, her favourite teddy bear, ditto Port Adelaide  scarf and an assortment of memorabilia

Onya, Auntie.

A nice way to go. Yes, they do things differently out in the country.
I liked the addition of the teddy bear and bottle of gin to the coffin.
It was appropriate to bury the Port Adelaide scarf.
