Grumpy’s war memorial plea to Adelaide City Council.

July 10, 2017

Am just about to seek permission to address the next meeting of the City of Adelaide Council to plead with the Lord Mayor and his members to help halt the controversial move of the unique Dardanelles war memorial to Kintore Avenue.

Hopefully my request will be approved, and  there might be some questions of me, which would help get the message across .

Except for witnessing  last month’s abortive bid by Councillor Sandy Wilkinson to protect the monument, it’s been a long break between my visits to the  Chamber. On the last occasion I was in the public gallery in my role as the Council’s publicity and promotions officer. Debate centred on the right of Council  parking inspectors to sport beards and visible tattoos and I had my moment in the spotlight when one Councillor pointed out that, while I did not have any tatts on display, I DID have a respectable amount of facial hair.
