Playground perils

September 6, 2017

Having witnessed a couple of heart-stopping incidents at a newly-renovated Unley playground in recent days, I read with interest the article in  today’s Advertiser (page 21 on September 6) in which Parenting Writer Liz Walsh espouses a radical rethink on adventure equipment.

To quote the article…”Gone is a single-use play equipment. Gone is soft-fall rubber. Out is plastic or metal. In today’s playgrounds you’ll see tunnels covered in rocks, water pumps near large sandpits, rock scrambles and sculptured logs”.

It makes you think.
