Unley’s youngest councillor.

September 20, 2017

I’m not that hot on mathematics, but if someone was elected to Unley Council in 1983, having been born in 1963, I would hazard a guess that he could have  just left his teens as a student.

Why the mathematics?

Just that history must be accurate to be of any use, and the above sum puts a dent in the claim by the Messenger Press that, at 23, Mayor Lachlan Clyne holds the distinction of being Unley’s youngest-ever elected member.

Why the interest by Grumpy? It so happens that David (pronounced Darvid in his parents’ home country of Latvia) Darzins was my first co-councillor in Goodwood South ward, closely followed by (quite a coincidence)  Robert Clyne, Lachlan’s dad…

AND I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ALL OF THE ABOVE IS PROBABLY OF NO INTEREST AT ALL TO ANYONE EXCEPT THOSE WHO WANT HISTORIC ACCURACY.
