Oxford Terrace worksite.

September 28, 2017

It’s had a somewhat chequered history.

Some Unley Councillors in the past (included Grumpy) wanted the empty block west of  Sturt Club headquarters used as an overflow for the sometimes/often congested carpark adjacent to the Civic Centre.

Next it was the object of a banner-waving, chanting, successful deputation from the adjacent school which had snapped up a Federal Government handout to expand its classrooms , thereby depriving students of any play area.

Of late the site has been rescued from a shared school and public  play area in a semi-derelict state.

Now the land is to be utilised (subject to conditions) as the site for a temporary contractor’s yard in conjunction with alterations to the nearby Oval grandstands. Thankfully for local residents with hours restricted between 6.30 a.m. to 7.00p.m.

Watch this space.
