Deputy Mayor Stakes for Unley.

December 27, 2017

Too early to give a definitive rundown on the number of runners in the January Stakes for the interim post of temporary leader of Unley Council.

Unfounded rumours have the field at three. Or is it four? And who are they?

Grumpy is not game enough to lash out a dollar or two on the field, or on just who will be putting their hand up for the four-year tenure of the mayoral regalia  later in the dying days of 2018.

All of the above has been brought on, of course, by the announced decision of Mayor Lachlan Clyne to disrobe from the scarlet gown and gold(ish) chain of office to battle it out for the seat of  Badcoe, formerly the Labor-held seat of Ashford plus a healthy slice of  the western side of Unley.

Meanwhile,  just when will king-maker Mr X apprise us of the candidates for the seats he has in line other than those he has  already targeted?. And could we see a mayoral resurrection bid by Mr C if his crossing of the border doesn’t bear fruit?

Why must Mayor Clyne force resign.
He must stay put just for in case he not win liberal seat.
Then he pop up be mayor again.
