Nepal book plea

January 6, 2018

It’s been two years or more since Grumpy was fortunate enough to leave the Himalayan nation four days ahead of the massive earthquake which shattered the country, leaving thousands of people dead, injured or homeless.

Despite tremendous response from around the world, the effects of the quake are still very much in evidence, with progress on re-establishing the more remote  mountain villages hampered by  badly damaged access routes and bad weather.

A forgotten consequence of the tragedy is the impact it has had on the younger generation,  and we can help in a small way by brightening their lives with escape through picture books. Sadly, thanks to our electronic age,  Grumpy’s regular source…, schools and second-hand  shops,… has shrunk, so any assistance you can offer would be gratefully appreciated.

It may sound trivial, but I can assure you that the young  Nepalese  smiles are broad when the deliveries are made. And my airline of choice is very generous in it’s relaxation of the luggage limit!!!

If you are able to help the Grumpy Collection Service will swing into action.
