Sexist, elderly bullies infest Councils!

Oh dear, oh dear.

It’s a full fourteen months or so before the citizens of South Australia are called upon to choose who will serve the next four-year term of local government.

But, predictably, the tired old motherhood man(oops)tra is being chanted. The mantra that it’s all a conspiracy by elderly, bullying, grey-haired males in black business suits swamping the polls to the disadvantage of the fairer sex.

Yes, it’s the harassment and sexism show, gentlemen, and you should be ashamed of yourselves…if, that is, you believe the load of tosh being peddled in the “Adelaide Now” publication this week.

Yes, I do have grey hair (actually it’s white!), but it’s more than 30 years since I owned a black business suit. And yes, I am probably well past my used-by date, which is why I will not be campaigning late next year. But I DID top the poll in Parkside Ward during the last round of elections. And yes, there was no woman candidate, though I did try to encourage several to stand. As I will do again in late 2018…

Incidentally, I actually LIVE in Unley, which is NOT the case of some of my co-Councillors… and I await with interest the arrival of proof of bullying, which is being bounced around.

Meanwhile, if anyone of the opposite  gender wants advice I will put MY despicable bullying on hold and offer assistance to would-be councilloresses.
