Gum Tree farce drags on.
Another load of old rubbish for the ignoramuses who can’t separate the truth from the tree.
Trouble is, the historically inaccurate load of Bayside bull is so deeply entrenched amid all the other “historical” hogwash that bedevils the REAL past of South Australia that no one with the power to do so is willing to set the record straight.
About the only thing about the whole farrago that can be verified is that the crew of the Buffalo got as p……. as newts, thus setting an example which eventually resulted in the infamous “Six o’clock swill”.
How’s THAT for twisting history?
Happy New Year
Oh yes, and a P.S.
I have a delightful representation of the gathering, painted montage style in 1935 by George E Mason. Which is almost as nice as the picture above.
Pretty sure the people of Kangaroo Island have an idea about where the ceremony should be held – and it’s not at Glenelg!
